Netflix is RUINING JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run – Episode 2 Delayed. Fans Are Boycotting!

I’ve been hyped for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run since the day they announced it. Part 7 is my absolute favorite arc in the entire series — that insane horse race, the Stands, the political madness, Johnny and Gyro’s bromance… it’s peak Araki. So when Netflix dropped that massive 47-minute Episode 1 on March 19, I was glued to the screen. It looked incredible, sounded insane, and the animation slapped harder than a Star Platinum punch.
Record views. Global hype. The JoJo community was unified for once.
Then… nothing.
No Episode 2 this week. Netflix’s schedule just ghosted it. Their official teaser for “2nd STAGE” only says “2026” with zero month, zero date, zero actual plan. And now the rumors are flying everywhere: some leaks are saying Episode 2 (and the next batch) might not hit until October 2026.
The replies on Netflix's Posts? Absolute war zone. Memes about piracy coming back, people calling it “Uzumaki 2.0,” straight boycott threats, and one dude even compared it to One Punch Man Season 3. I jumped in myself and said exactly what I’m feeling:
“They are just trying to make more money out of Fan. I really hate Netflix.”
Because that’s the truth.
David Production and director Yasuhiro Kimura (the same guy who killed it with Golden Wind) just confirmed in a fresh AniTrendz interview that production is going smoothly. The director literally said he wants to see it soon too, but the schedule is out of his hands. So the animation isn’t the problem. Netflix’s greedy release strategy is.
They drop one massive hype episode to get you to subscribe, then go dead silent for months. Keep the show “alive” on the platform for years so you keep paying. It’s not about giving fans the best experience — it’s about subscription bait. We’ve seen this exact play before and it always backfires.
Steel Ball Run deserved to ride the wave. Instead, Netflix slammed on the brakes and killed all the momentum. Fans are already saying they’re just gonna read the manga now (which, honestly, valid). Others are threatening to cancel Netflix completely.
I get that making one episode of JoJo takes time — the detail, the sound design, the sheer scale. But don’t tease us with one banger episode and then vanish into the void with a vague “2026” card. Give us a real schedule. Weekly drops, bi-weekly, even batch drops every couple months — just tell us so we can stay locked in.
Netflix, if you’re somehow reading this (you monitor everything, we know you do):
Stop treating anime like a side hustle. Stop killing your own shows. The JoJo fanbase is loyal as hell — don’t make us regret giving you our money.
Until then, I’m doing what a lot of you are probably doing — keeping the manga close, memeing the pain with the community, and staying salty about it.
